Established in 2005
Boris started his career as a barber in 1989 in his hometown Vinnitsa, Ukraine. He had a dream. Actually there were two dreams: one – to open his own barber shop, and other - to move to United States and become an American citizen. It took quite a few years of hard work to come closer to his dreams. In 1998 Boris came to Chicago, he worked as a barber for 7 years before Boris Barber Shop was open in Deerfield in 2005. Later we moved to this location at 195 Skokie Valley Road in Highland Park. Now we have more space and capable of serving more customers.
Boris started to build his business 15 years ago and with the help of his wonderful staff he built a second home for his clients. He was not only a barber to his clients but an amazing friend to talk to. We will continue to honor Boris' legacy and all of his hard work at the shop, and keep it the way it always has been and how Boris wanted it to be. Thank you so much to our community for the continued support we are grateful to all of you.
"Boris was taken from us too soon. He will be missed dearly by his wife, daughter, many friends and the community as a whole. "
"Our community lost a local businessman, family man and friend Boris Fayman. Owner of Boris' Barber Shop was an avid, safe and responsible motorcyclist who was killed by an alleged drunk driver with a blood alcohol level 3 times the legal limit."
What can I say - Boris has been my barber for 12 years now and has also been my 16 year old son's barber since he got out of the kiddie chair at snippets. Boris is great - but so are the other guys. They all do a great job at Boris' Barber Shop :-).
I have been going to Boris for a Haircut for the last couple of years. He takes a lot of pride in his shop. I like the way he cuts my hair and his prices a reasonable. He also is very friendly and easy to talk to. If you like Hockey he really knows the sport. Great Guy and a Great Barber Shop.
This is the best place to get a haircut on the northshore. Boris represents what American is all about, come here, become a citizen, work you tail off, start a business and offer superior customer service.
Make an appointment, they are business men and are usually busy, although you can stop in and try for walkin appointment. go in and try him or ANY of his staff out, you will go back. I have been getting my hair cut here for 7 years.
Boris is the main man there! Been going to him for the last seven... eight years. Very busy. STRONGLY recommend making an appointment. He will ask how you want your haircut done. Some other barbershops will cut hair one way and sometimes without asking for your preferences. Expect to pay $20 for haircuts there.
I WOULD RECOMMEND this barbershop to anyone, you won't be disappointed.
